Hi taylor15,

Making sure your journal entries are properly numbered is essential for the organization of your bookkeeping. I can see how having multiple journal entries with the same number would cause issues, and I'd be happy to walk you through some troubleshooting steps in order to resolve that.

If you're noticing that the numbering sequence isn't moving past a certain number, try manually changing the journal entry number on your next transaction. To do that, simply click the Journal No. field and enter the next number in the sequence. This should re-trigger the numeric ordering.

If you're noticing that the system is still trying to assign the same journal number, there may be a bug in the back-end of your browser caused by stored cache and cookies. Try clearing the cache and cookies in your web browser by following the steps here: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online

If the issue persists, try using an Incognito window in Google Chrome. This is a private browsing mode that operates separately from the main browser, and it doesn't get impacted by stored cache and cookies. Here's more information about that and how to use it: Browse in Private. You should also try using multiple different browsers.

If you're still running into issues, I'd recommend touching base with our tech support team so an agent can take a closer look at what may be happening. I'm confident our team will be able to sort this out for you.

Have a great day.
