Question

My problem: When I enter a j/e to record revenue - all but the first line appears on my Product/Service report as Not specified. Why?

I am using QBO.  The weird part is the first line does not appear in the report - the same account used on the second line of the J/E does. I do not want any of the J/E to go to that report. How do I stop it?

Welcome to Community!  Seeing your products and services as 'not specified' can be concerning.  QuickBooks Online enables you to enter and track your inventory items with peace of mind.  I'd be happy to provide some insight here.

 

When setting up your inventory, you can set default account to each product and service.  If an account hasn't been set to automatically be applied, this would be why you'll see 'not specified'.  However, your time is valuable and it's important that we're on the right track with your QuickBooks goals.  For this reason, I encourage you to contact us outside of Community, so we can work with you directly and get you back to business as soon as possible!

 

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
