Question

Our customers are invoiced in USD. When we view a customer report for a period, the revenue shows in CAD. How can we view a list of customers with USD revenue?

Hey clayton-lainsbur,

The multi-currency feature in QuickBooks Online makes it easy to manage international customers and sales.  By default, we keep track of income and expenses in the account's Home Currency. This ensures consistent reporting throughout QuickBooks, and makes it easy to see how your business is doing overall. There is also incredible value in seeing your foreign income amounts in their respective currencies. I'm happy to show you how to see these amounts isolated, or side by side with their CAD value.

By using the report customization options available in QuickBooks Online, we can easily see your foreign income amounts in their respective currencies. Several different reports have these options available, so don't be afraid to experiment. It's just a few simple steps:

  1. Head to the Reports tab on the left and open the Sales by Customer Detail report (Transaction List by Customer also works very well).
  2. Click on Customize in the upper right and enter the desired Report period.
  3. Expand the Rows/Columns section.then click on Change columns.
  4. Check the boxes for Currency, and Foreign Amount (feel free to check other columns you think will be helpful).
  5. Click on Run report.
  6. (Optional) Click on Save customization to save this report as a template.

With this you can easily see amounts in multiple currencies on the same report. Let me know if this works, it's important to know what's going on in each currency.
