Hi loriwhitmore,

It's awesome to see that you're using QuickBooks Online with Payroll for managing business books! From your question, it looks like you're seeking some input from other members of this forum, which is a great way to collaborate and get the best out of the product. I just wanted to take a moment highlight some additional resources for you.

Once you have Payroll activated in QuickBooks Online, a number of payroll based reports become available to you. These reports can highlight and breakdown a wealth of information regarding payroll for you, such as summaries of pay runs, detailed information about pay runs, and more. I've got a few articles here that go over payroll reports and how to access them if you're not already familiar with them.

Some of the information between the two overlaps, such as descriptions about the payroll reports and what they show, but I recommend reviewing the details of both articles.

Figuring out what reports are best for your situation may also benefit from consulting an accountant. Accountants have the training to back you with your books, and with QuickBooks Online's My Accountant tab, you can work with an accountant directly in the program. With that tab, you'll have the option to invite your accountant to the software as a user, which gives them the tools and access to work with your data. If you don't have an accountant, the Find a pro to help button leads you to our directory of QuickBooks-certified professionals near you.

Keep an eye out for other responses from users here in the Community since they may still jump on this thread to offer their insight.

I hope you enjoy your weekend!
