Hi deana4,

Accessing your bank statement allows you to get a better view of your transactions. I'll be happy to steer you towards the right path with viewing your bank statement. Don't worry, I'll be happy to help to steer you in the right direction so you can enjoy the amazing benefits of the program.

In QuickBooks, you can get bank statements from your bank when you reconcile your accounts. Before I show you how to do that, it's important to list out the banks which allows you to retrieve your bank statements in QuickBooks. Here's the list:

  • Royal Bank of Canada
  • TD Canada Trust - Easy Web
  • Scotiabank
  • Bank of Montreal
  • ATB Financial
  • Desjardins AccesD Affaires
  • RBC Banque Royale (Canada)
  • Canadian Tire Bank
  • American Express Credit Card (Canada)
  • Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce

If your bank is listed above, follow these steps to upload and access your bank statement:

Step 1: Connect your bank account

If you haven't already, connect your bank account to online banking.

If your bank supports this feature, you'll get bank statements automatically when you reconcile. We're working with banks to make this feature more widely available. Here's the list of supported banks as of December, 2020.supported banks as of December, 2020.

Step 2: Get your bank statements

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Accounting menu. Or if you're an accountant, open your client's QuickBooks Online company file first.
  2. Select the Reconcile tab.
  3. From the Account dropdown, select the account you want to reconcile.
  4. If you see the View statements option, you can get your bank statements directly from your bank for this account. Select View statements to see your available statements.
  5. When you're ready to start, select Start reconciliation or Resume reconciliation.
