Question

Why can't I see all Active accounts in any report, including those with zero-values? There is no different between Active and Non-Zero setting - all are just non-zero...

Hi artem1,

Thanks for reaching out in the Community. I'd be happy to walk you through the customization options available in QuickBooks.

Most of main reports in QBO have the default setting which allows the number format to  "Except zero amounts". You can uncheck this option by opening one of the reports you're trying to view. Once you have the reports pulled up, click Customize > Number format > Uncheck Except zero amount. I'll attach a screenshot below for reference:

Give this a shot and let me know if it makes a difference on your end. I'll be on standby.

Hi James,

Thank you, but this does not resolve my issue.

The Except Zero checkbox turns on and off zero values across rows that are already visible. My issue is that my active rows (active accounts) which have no transactions associated with them do no show.

See below: first screenshot shows report that was run on ALL rows. You can see that I have an account for Sales, which has 0 values across all months. This account has no transactions. I have several other Income accounts that should appear at the top of the report, all with no transactions in them.

The second screenshot shows exactly the same report, with all the same settings, except for ACTIVE accounts. You can see that Sales account disappears, any my whole report starts with Expenses (where I do have transactions).

This sort of behaviour is what I would expect from the Non-Zero rows setting, and this is indeed what it does. However, for Active rows, I would expect to see all active accounts (i.e. those which have Active status in the Chart of Accounts), regardless of whether they have any values/transactions associated with them.

Any ideas?
