Why did my tax payment not show up in my bank ledger or anywhere else?

I paid my payroll tax payment in QBO but the payment did not pull through in my bank ledger.  Even when I do a search for the payment amount, the transaction does not show up anywhere in QBO.  Previous month payments have.

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  QuickBooks Online enables you to file and record your payroll remittance.  Ensuring your payment is recorded in your bank register, is essential, in keeping your books balanced.  I would be glad to provide more insight here!

 

With QuickBooks Online Payroll, you have the option to file and pay your payroll tax online. However, if you are recording a payroll tax payment only, you will need to make your payment outside of QuickBooks, then enter the payment information as an expense. By doing so, you'll be able to match the transaction with your bank ledger, and reconcile your account seamlessly.
