Question

With some of the companies I use the reports automatically update and some not after making entries. How do I turn this feature on/off?

Hi Bryan20,

QuickBooks Online makes it simple for you to assess your business health by giving you access to some awesome reports. I know how important it is for your reports to be updated right away after creating entries in your account. If you're noticing that this is happening on some reports, but not others, I'll explain what may be happening.

The first thing to make sure of is whether or not you're creating a non-posting transaction such as an Estimate. Estimates are non-posting transactions, as they don't reflect the movement of funds. If you create an Estimate, you won't see this accounted for on your reports.

It's also important to make sure the report's selected date-range includes the date the transaction was created.

Otherwise, you should complete some troubleshooting steps for your browser to ensure the system is working as intended.

Clear the cache and cookies in your web browser to remove any stored Internet files that have built up over time. If you're not sure how, take a look at this informative article: How do I clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files?

If the issue persists, try using an Incognito window in Google Chrome. This is a private window that operates separately from the rest of the browser. It's often used to fix latency issues or loading problems. Here's how to do it: Browse in private. You can also try using a different browser.

If you're still noticing that your reports aren't updating, please reach out to our tech support team so we can take a closer look at what's happening.

Cheers.
