Question

Can anyone think of a way Quickbooks can handle Reverse Charge VAT?

Quick books online is great so far, the only downfall is it will not record EU VAT on reverse charge basis correctly on Receipts review section, even though RCG at 23% is set up, it is not activated for Quick books Ireland. Can anyone advise what they are doing about the EU VAT on Irish VAT returns?

David, It's my pleasure to welcome you to the Community. I'd be delighted to assist you in handling Reverse Charge VAT in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Thanks for choosing QuickBooks Online, David. You can make the RCG at 23% active by turning it on in the VAT Rates settings. This way, you'll be able to use this rate on transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the VAT menu, then click the Edit VAT dropdown button.
  2. Choose the Edit rates option.

  3. Locate the VAT rate, then hit ON.
