It has recently come to my attention that our 940 and 941 forms have been being viewed and payments were submitted, but the forms were not actually being filed or archived. How do I go about generating these forms dating as far back as 2018? Because they were never actually filed I don't have any access to any archived records of these forms and I can only access back to the beginning of 2021. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, amarr04.

In QuickBooks Online, you'll be able to view and access previously filed 940 and 941 forms through the Archive Forms section.

Currently, the option to generate the form way back to 2018 is unavailable. I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Online Support. They have the resources necessary to access your account and assist you in obtaining the form.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. Click Talk to a human.
  4. Enter your concern.
  5. Hit Contact us
  6. Choose a way to connect either Start a chat or Get a callback.

You can contact us every Monday to Friday from 6: 00 AM PST to 6:00 PM PST. Then, until 3:00 PM PST every Saturday.
