Hi there, msq-est90.

Based on the question you provided, it seems you're able to change the tax rate before. That being said, you can still change/edit the tax rate on the same page or in the Edit tax rate window.

However, if you can't change the tax rate, there could be outdated Internet files that need to be cleared out. This is done once in a while because it can cause websites to receive unusual behavior.

I suggest logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private browser. This way, you're able to verify if the issue is caused by a full cache. This might also be the reason you're unable to change the tax rate.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using.

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, I recommend clearing the cache of your regular browser. This removes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. You can check this article to see the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the steps above didn't work, use another supported browser as alternatives.

Please check this article on how to handle changing tax rates: Manage a tax rate change.

You can also refer to this article to see steps on how you can make a VAT or GST rate inactive: Remove a VAT or GST rate.

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns. Wishing you and your business continued success.
