Question

I want to add a new tax agency, but when I go into Taxes I don't see the option to add a tax agency. How do add a new Tax Agency?

Hello there, @MC01. I appreciate you reaching out to the Community with regards to this matter. I can guide you how to create custom tax agency.

You can create tax agency by following the steps below:
 

  1. Go to the left navigation bar and select Taxes.
  2. From the Tax Centre, select Add tax.
  3. Select Custom tax and enter Tax name, Description and Business ID no.
  4. On the dropdown choose Start of current tax period  and Filing frequency for the agency.
  5.  Select Reporting method.
  6. Select the type of transactions the tax is applied to it's either Sales rate or the Purchase rate.
  7. Then select Save.

If you're still unable to proceed you can try to perform the the basic troubleshooting. you can start by opening the program using an incognito window. It's the best place to spot browser issues.

Here are the shortcut keys:
 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N 
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N
     

 
If you're able to post it, you can go back to the main browser, then clear the cache to refresh it then try to do the process to add tax agency. Also, make sure you're using the updated/supported browsers.
