Hi All

We moved to QBO recently. Then we realized the tax invoice format is not compliant. I want to try and fix this format so its 100% compliant. I read this forum and saw QBO has introduced a Airy template but it seems the tax amount is not appearing line wise. Has this been fixed or its still an issue?

My preference it to continue using QBO. However if this issue is still not fixed how you all managing? Whats your workaround or using some other software for invoicing? Please let me know.

Hello there, @VP055. I'll be glad to share a few insights about the VAT amount appearing linewise using your preferred template in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and guide you on the actions you need to take to help take care of this matter.

I can see how the benefit of being able to show the VAT amount linewise using the Airy invoice format would aid you in complying with regulations and managing your transactions in QBO. However, the option to do so is currently unavailable.

For the time being, QuickBooks will show you the total VAT amount of your transaction in the VAT field above its Total. Please see the screenshot below for your reference.

With that being said, I encourage you to look for a third-party application that can integrate with QBO that'll help the VAT amount appear linewise on your invoices. To do this, you can visit the Apps menu.

On the other hand, we take your suggestions as opportunities to improve the various features of our products. Therefore, I would encourage you to send suggestions or product recommendations.

Your valuable feedback will be forwarded and reviewed by our Product Development team to help improve your experience while using the program. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Type in your recommendation in the Share your feedback field.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Also, you may want to check out one of our Help pages in case you need a reference to guide you in managing VAT transactions using QBO: VAT/GST and general tax FAQs.

Please keep me posted in the comments if you have other VAT concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @VP055.
