Let me guide you on how you can customize account types in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I have two scenarios that I can think of how you can go about the customization. If you haven't imported your chart of accounts yet, you'll have to make sure to edit your file to make sure it's correctly imported to QuickBooks. You can download a sample file to check for your reference. Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon on the upper right. 
2. Select Import data.
3. Click Chart of Accounts. 
4. Click the Download a sample file to download.

But, if you're in the process of importing the file, you can review the correct account type under step 3 and correct it by clicking the drop-down arrow under the Type column.
