Question

Am I able to change a PST file return after I have prepared and filed? I didn't adjust the commission row accidentally to adjust the amount owed. How to fix now?

Hey there userhorvathhottubs,

I know how important it is to ensure that your sales tax return is accurate. The QuickBooks Online sales tax module makes it easy to prepare and file your return, as well as record your payment. However, once you've filed your return, un-filing requires a few extra steps. Let me explain.

If you're working with an accountant and they are listed as an Accountant User within your company, you can reach out to them to have them un-file your most recent filing. You can even send them the article below which gives the step-by-step instructions that will help them to complete the task. It's fairly straightforward, so I know they'll be able to give you a hand.

If you're working with an accountant and haven't yet connected with them in QuickBooks, you can navigate to the My Accountant tab to send them an invite. You'll also find the Find a pro to help button on this page, which enables you to navigate through our database of QuickBooks-certified accountants, known as ProAdvisors. You'll have no trouble finding an accounting professional to help you un-file.

If however, you aren't working with and don't want to work with an accountant in QuickBooks, you do have another option. By reaching out to our team of customer success experts outside of the Community, you'll be able to arrange to have your most recent sales tax filing un-filed. It can't be done here in the Community because there are sensitive account details that are required to complete the task, and this is a public forum. If you'd like to pursue this route to un-file your sales tax filing, here are the ways you can connect with us:
