Question

Can't mark a GST/HST return as filed due to error: Filing date should be a valid date and lie between end date and today's date (INDIRECTTAX-19702)

I'm using Quickbooks Online, under "Taxes" in the sidebar. I'm entering today's date as the date the return was filed (it was filed today in CRA's online system). Clicking "Mark as Filed" yields the error.

Hi there rickgladwin,

QuickBooks Online is equipped with a robust Sales Tax feature that makes it simple to track the tax that you pay and collect, as well as remit. Being able to mark your return as filed within the QuickBooks Online sales tax module is an important step in the bookkeeping process. When errors occur it can slow down your workflow, taking away from time that could be better spent doing what you love. I want to give you a hand with getting back to business.

The first step in resolving this issue is to double and even triple-check that the dates you've entered are correct. If QuickBooks doesn't like today's date, try using yesterday's date, even if you filed your return through the CRA today. If you're sure that you've got the right dates selected, the next step is to complete some browser and internet troubleshooting steps. These steps help to determine whether the issue you're experiencing is within QuickBooks or if it's as a result of the images and files stored in your browser's cache. I've included some steps below that I'd like you to try. Once complete, attempt to mark your return as filed again:
