Can you just have PST on an invoice under taxes. I can enter this in manually but I have not passed the $30,000 in 4 quarters to add GST. I just need to add PST as I have now passed $10,000 in sales

Congratulations on the growth of your business! That's an amazing feat and I'm excited for you. I love that you've been using QuickBooks Self-Employed to manage your books and want to make sure you have the information you need about how to work with sales tax in this version of the software.

 

QuickBooks Self-Employed's sales tax centre is fairly simple: you navigate to the Taxes tab or Gear icon and choose Sales tax setup. From there, you can choose which provincial tax rates you need to work with and you'll be good to go. I suspect you may already be there since you're asking about how to configure PST only on your transactions since you don't yet qualify to charge GST. At this time, there isn't a way to select only PST for your sales tax.

  1. Select the Assistant feature.
  2. Type and enter "talk to human" in the chat.

Another option you can consider is switching to QuickBooks Online. This isn't right for everyone since it doesn't have the option to track personal and business amounts like QuickBooks Self-Employed does, but it does provide the option to use PST only on transactions.
