Hi bryle1

Welcome to the QuickBooks Online community family! I'm glad to hear you're using the Sales Tax Centre in your account. It's one of the most powerful features in QuickBooks Online designed to ensure the accuracy of your transactions and your books. I know how crucial it is to make sure you have the correct sales tax rates. I'll be happy to share more on the default tax code for Saskatchewan (SK).

The global sales tax for SK is calculated from goods and services tax (GST) in Canada rate (5%) and the PST rate (6% ) for a total of 11%. QuickBooks Online is compliant to the CRA and respects these settings when you turn on or add Saskatchewan as a province. These following codes are what you should expect to have after adding SK in your account.

  • PST SK (Saskatchewan provincial tax only) at 6%.
  • GST (Federal tax (GST) only) at 5%.
  • GST/PST SK (Combined federal and Saskatchewan provincial tax) at 11%.

You can also click on the ▼ drop-down beside the combined tax GST/PST SK to view more details on the group rate.

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to stop by if you need anything else.
