Does anyone know how to add sales tax to manually entered deposits without having to edit the transaction after it is posted?

Hi mark-kdprofessio,

Welcome to the Community. It's important to record your transactions correctly to keep your books balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great program that gives you the ability to easily track your sales and expenses. I'd be glad to help.

Adding sales tax to deposits allows you to accurately track and identify transactions in your reports. At this time, the option to add sales tax to manually entered deposits without having to edit the transaction after it is posted isn't available. You can use journal entries to enter your sales tax. However, the journal entries will be separate entries on your reports. The other option is to edit your transactions to add sales tax.

If you'd like to include the option to add sales tax to manually entered deposits without having to edit the transaction after it is posted, I recommend that you send us Feedback by clicking on the Gear icon at the top. This is sent to our Development Team to consider for future updates.

Let me know if you have questions, I'll be happy to help.
