Hi aaron8735-gmail-,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. It's a great place to reach out with your questions. The QuickBooks Self-Employed is a bare-bones version of the program designed to help busy entrepreneurs on the go. I can provide you with some information on the sales tax module in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Here's an article that goes through how the sales tax is set up and used in QuickBooks Self-Employed: Sales Tax Overview. You'll find that the sales tax is set by the province you input. QuickBooks Self-Employed doesn't give options for creating custom taxes. If this is important to you, you might want to consider Switching from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.

If you'd like to provide feedback, you can do so in-product by:

  1. Select the Assistant feature.
  2. Type and enter Feedback.
  3. Follow the prompts.

If you're unsure how to find the Assistant, check out this article: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

You can always reach back out if you have any questions. I'm here to help. Have a fantastic day!
