Hi jbretzler,

Thanks for reaching out here.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online has a robust sales tax module with everything you need to stay ahead of your work.  I'll be happy to assist!

In situations like this, making an entry in error can easily be reversed by deleting the sales tax installment.  Here's how:

1.  From the left menu, open Taxes and then Sales tax

2. Click on the Payments tab

3. Select Delete from the Action column

4. Hit Yes to confirm

That's it!  Here's a helpful guide for future reference.

Please let us know if this has been solved.  Your work is important and we'd love to hear about your success!

What do you do if there is no drop down arrow next to the View Action?  I have undone the transaction but still don't see a way to delete the installment.

Hey there, adminTMJ.

Thanks for chiming in on this thread. I'd be happy to guide you in the right direction for the best assistance.

Can you tell me if you get the same results if you try in a private browser, as sometimes browsing data can accumulate on your system and prevent the software from doing what it is supposed to do. Here are some shortcuts you can try depending on the browser you're using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Ill be on standby!
