Hi userconwaymillwork,

Making sure you're accounting for the sales tax portions of your transactions is a vital piece of the accounting puzzle, and it never hurts to double check how you should be handling these kinds of calculations. I can absolutely help you with adding HST to your invoice so that the calculations are correctly entered in QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks likes to keep things as easy as possible when it comes to sales tax and your transactions, which is why rather than needing to add a separate line to calculate things like HST, you can just use the Sales Tax column on a form to do so. It looks like this.

This column appears once you turn on sales tax through the Taxes tab, and it'll show you the codes you've also turned on in that area. All it takes is selecting a code from the drop-down menu on the form and the program will calculate the sales tax inclusively or exclusively, depending on your setup. If you need to set up more sales tax codes, this article can help: How to set up a new sales tax code

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes. If that's not quite what you're looking for, more detail about the kind of transaction you're trying to enter will be helpful. Feel free to share a bit more in a response here.

Take care.
