I file GST annually, but will make installments. How do I enter these payments in Quickbooks desktop pro?

Hello LH10,

I know making installments is a great way to keep on top of what you owe to the government and helps by not leaving you with a large lump sum to make all at once. It's awesome that you've got this kind of arrangement with the CRA for your GST remittances. I'll help you with finding how to make the installments in QuickBooks Desktop.

There's actually a good step-by-step article right in product that I recommend checking out for these purposes. This is how you can find it.

  1. Select Help from the top menu, then choose QuickBooks Desktop Help (Note: pressing F1 can be used as a shortcut).
  2. Choose the Help tab on the Have a Question? window.
  3. Click the Search button.
  4. Type keywords such as "sales tax installments" in the search bar.
  5. Press the arrow at the end of the bar or hit Enter on your keyboard to search.

The article I pulled up that I think will be helpful for you is called "Pay sales tax liabilities by instalments."

If you'd like some guidance, don't be afraid to reach out to our support team. An agent would be happy to help you make sure that you've got this right. Learn about contact details, hours, and support policies here: Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies

I hope that helps! Enjoy the rest of your day.
