How do you set up to prorate sales taxes

Thanks for reaching out about your tax codes. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to assist you in keeping track of tax on transactions so you know the amount to declare. I can provide some information about sales tax.

If you've created a sales tax code, but you can't see it when creating transactions, one place to check would be to make sure the tax code is active. To do so, go to the Taxes tab, then Sales Tax. Click on Manage sales tax, then locate the new group code you created. If Make Inactive is listed in the Action column for the row, then the code is active. If Make Active is shown, it's currently inactive, and you would need to click on that option to see it while creating transactions.

Another possible cause for it not showing up when transactions are being created would be browsing data. These temporary files can accumulate in your browser, device and network and cause errors like missing options in any cloud-based software like QuickBooks Online. You can resolve errors caused by browsing data by using these steps:

• Clear your browser cache if you're using a browser
• Try a browser if you're using the app
• Try deleting the app from your device, and installing it once more from the app store
• Try a private browser window
• Try another browser type
• Make sure you're using a supported browser and system
• Reset your Internet or try on another computer or device
