Hi simin,

QuickBooks Online's Bank Feed feature makes it easy to keep your records in order by allowing you to match entries in QuickBooks directly to your bank transactions. It's great that you've already posted the necessary journal entry to address the GST balance. I can help you get the entry and the payment matched within your bank feed.

Now that the GST payables journal entry has been posted and the related payment has been processed through the bank account, you can match the two from within the banking screen. You'd have to click on the transaction with the For Review section of the Banking tab, and then select the Match option to search for possible matches. Within the find match window, you can adjust the date range and select the specific transaction type (which would be a journal entry in this situation) to narrow the search. When the journal entry transaction appears, tick the checkbox and then select Save. You can find more details about categorizing and matching bank transactions here

If you're not seeing the journal entry when inside the Find Match screen, there are a couple possible reasons for why the match may not have been noticed within the system:

  • The journal entry was recorded in a different bank account.
  • The journal entry has been reconciled.
  • The journal entry has been previously matched to another bank downloaded transaction.

I'm hear to help if you need further assistance!
