Question

I am having a reoccurring issue with Jobber and Quick Books. Quick Books has started applying an inactive HST category when I sync. I am at a loss as to how to fix it.

Hello roberta-huskylan,

Syncing up other service you're using for your business with QuickBooks Online can make a difference in your bookkeeping practices and the accuracy of your entered data, however, it's still good to keep an eye out for errors like the one you've mentioned here. I can lend a hand and point you in the right direction to make sure this issue with the inactive sales tax code being applied to your transactions is corrected.

The first thing to do when you notice a sync issue of any kind with a third-party service is check with the support team for the app or integration being used to sync it to QuickBooks Online. When you're using a partner app through the Apps tab or even a third-party integration, working with the team that designed that app or integration is the best place to start with checking for errors and solutions because the way it syncs the data comes from that end. A member of that team would also be able to help you make sure your setup is correct.

In this case, it may not be Jobber, but an app or integration that syncs Jobber with QuickBooks. The Apps tab is useful for getting information about the team you should connect with to resolve these issues. In the Apps section, click the My Apps tab, and then select the one you're using to sync Jobber and QuickBooks to see contact details for the team you need. If you're using an integration, you can browse the support site for that integration service to find contact details.

If you're still having trouble after connecting with the app or integration team, feel free to reach out to QuickBooks Online support. Using one of the following options, you can share with us the troubleshooting you've already done, more detail about the issue, and any other details that may help get to the bottom of this. Here's how to reach out.
