Hi there,

Collecting sales tax is an important part of operating your business, and QuickBooks Online is here to help with simple tools that save you time. I know how essential it is to record your sales tax refund for both GST as well as your hotel taxes. I'll help point you in the right direction.

In order for me to help you best, I'll need a few more details about what your goal is. Typically, once you record your sales tax filing and payment in QBO, you're able to record a refund if one is given from the tax agency by following the steps here:

1. Click the Taxes tab.

2. Select Sales Tax at the top of the page.

3. Scroll down until you see your filing.

4. Click the drop-down menu next to View Summary and click Record refund

In this instance, have your hotel taxes not been accounted for in your original tax filing? With a bit more information I'm confident that I'll be able to help you.

I'll be on standby.
