Question

Is there a way to manually enter the amount of tax paid on an expense (vs using the standard 13% for HST)?

Hello,

Recording your transactions accurately is crucial for your business. The good news is QuickBooks Online is a flexible platform that lets you enter the details of each transaction according to your business needs. I’ll be happy to assist you with manually entering the amount of tax paid on an expense. Here’s how:

  1. Select the + icon from the top right menu.
  2. Under Suppliers, select Expense.
  3. Input the relevant details of the transaction, including the tax rate HST ON (13%).
  4. Now you have access to the tax amount box just underneath the Subtotal. Here you can edit the tax amount as needed.
  5. Once done, select Save and close from the bottom right menu.
