PST Only

Hello

I have an expense, for insurance, that includes PST only, no gst was charged.

I can exclude PST, but is there a way to exclude gst from an expense?

Hello LoraM,

 

Welcome to Community!  I can understand that times may arise, when you need to make necessary changes to sales tax applied to your transactions.  QuickBooks Self-Employed, enables you to apply, or remove sales tax as you see necessary,  I would be glad to show you how!

 

 

All of your transactions are handled through the Transactions menu.  When you create a transaction, you would simply hit Apply, to add sales tax. When you need to remove it from an existing transaction, hover over the number in the Sales Tax column and click Remove when it appears.  Here's more information regarding sales tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Hello,

Thank you for that detail, that works well if there is no sales tax, alternatively, I can apply GST only. 

However, I was hoping there was an option to apply PST only, but when adding taxes in the transactions it applies your provinces pst and gst.

I'm happy that I was able to provide valuable information regarding sales tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed.  However, I do understand the need for other options, as you've hoped.  At this time, I encourage you to submit a suggestion to our Development Team for future updates and feature improvements, that you feel beneficial.  To submit your feedback, proceed to the Assistant feature and type submit feedback. Choose the Feature request option from the prompts.  In addition, you may with to review features currently available in other QuickBooks Online products, to better suite your business needs.  You can review plans and pricing here.  Should you decide to move forward with a different plan, you'll be able to move your data, by following this link.
