Question

sales tax discount is no longer being reflected on my check register

When entering sales tax paid in QB desktop I also make an adjustment for the discount given

from the state. I have made this same entry for the last 2 months. For some reason when I

now enter it, the sales tax discount amount is not reflected on the check register. Normally It would show the amount as a split transaction ( ex: $1909.00 sales -$26.00 discount.) .Please advise.

Thank You

Hi there barbgreenx,

It's crucial that all tax amounts are correctly shown on the tax reports in order for your tax filings to be accurate. QuickBooks desktop is able to help save you time on tax filings by adding up all amounts of tax on sales and expenses to be able to help generate your tax totals to file to the government. I can point you in the right direction for assistance regarding this tax discount.

In order to be able to see the cause of this transaction not populating on the check register, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Desktop support team. They'll be able to view this transaction in your account with you in a secure environment in order to see why it isn't correctly appearing in the check register. You can find the ways to contact the support team in the QuickBooks Desktop software support policies.
