Question

Sales tax in Manitoba is 7% PST and 5% GST. Can you provide this in the system? Or is there a way to change the sales tax percentages manually?

The system only provides 13%. In Manitoba it is now 12%

Hi, Divina. Let me share with you some insights about the sales in rates in Manitoba.

Editing the rates for Manitoba is currently available. However, the system has updated rates for Manitoba. You can check it out through the Manage sales tax window. From there, you can see GST/PST MB 2013 with 13% and under it which is GST/PST MB with 12% (5%GST and 7%PST).

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click on Taxes at the left pane, then select Sales Tax.
  3. Tap on Manage sales tax.
  4. Look for Manibota to see the sales tax agency rates.

I'm also adding this screenshot to learn more about the rates showing up in QuickBooks.

If you don't see those rates under GST/PST MB, you can try visiting the tax set up by clicking on the Edit agency settings link to narrow down the result.

Additionally, you can try reopening QuickBooks to refresh the page. Alternatively, you can review the rates through a private window. To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the result.

After that, you're now ready to track sales taxes from customers using the Manitoba rates.
