Question

Why the GST Summary does not report the GST recorded on expenses?

I had created a GST Receivable account to record the GST (Input Tax Credit) on supplies and other expenses.  But the amount on this GL code is not shown on the GST Summary.  Should I have used an existing account?  If any, what is the account.  Thank you.

Hi rogervilla-yahoo,

Welcome to Community!  It's important that your sales tax is accurate in QuickBooks Online to ensure your books are balanced.  I'd be happy to point you in the right direction so you can accomplish your QuickBooks goals with confidence!

Based on the information you've provided, I recommend taking a look at the expenses to ensure a tax code was applied.  Here's how to access the expense history;

1. Open +New from the left menu and then Expense

2. Click on the circular arrow in the top left

3. Scroll down and select View more

4. Click on a transaction to open it and make any necessary changes
