Question

App is miscalculating my ‘profit’ & adding my ‘total income’ to ‘expenses’ &showing it as ‘profit’. It should be total income MINUS expenses, but is ADDING them together &classing as PROFIT. How can I change this to calculate correctly?!

Hello there, @rebecca-violinis.

Let's first access your  make sure to access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account using the regular web browser. Once logged in, you can try generating the Profit and Loss report. It summarizes your self-employed business income (the money you earned) and expenses (the money you spent), so you can see how profitable you are.

You can compare the data you see in the regular browser and the one displayed on the mobile app.

If it's different, let's make sure that your QuickBooks Self-Employed mobile app is updated to the latest version to isolate this unexpected behavior when viewing your Profit and Loss report.

iOS app

  1. On your device, open the App Store.
  2. Select the Today tab, then select your profile.
  3. In the Available updates section, look for the QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  4. If you see the option, select Update.

Android app

  1. On your device, open the Google Play store.
  2. On the home screen, select the Menu ☰ icon.
  3. Select My apps & games.
  4. In the Updates tab, find and select the QuickBooks Self-Employed app. Note: if you don’t see the QuickBooks Self-Employed app in the Updates tab, your app is already up to date.
  5. Select Update.

If it's already updated, you can try resetting your mobile app's data.

Android app

  1. Go to More Options ⋮,
  2. Select Settings, then tap Refresh Data,
