I've recently taken on a new client and asked them to connect the bank as of 1st May but it has connected from the 3rd Jan and their transactions were correct up to the 30th April and bank reconciled as they are vat registered. Can I change the connection date or delete bank data for 3rd Jan to 30th April. The previous accountant didn't have the bank account connected

I understand the importance of accurate financial records and seamless transitions when taking on a new client, @Craggman.

 

It sounds like you're facing a specific challenge with the bank connection and transaction history. I'll be glad to assist you with this matter.

 

Changing the connection date is unavailable since your bank is already connected to QuickBooks. To address this, we can delete your bank data from the 3rd of January until the 30th of April.  

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Navigate to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, then choose Bank Transactions (Take me there).
  2. Select the tile for the bank or credit card account you downloaded the transaction from.
  3. Click the Categorised tab.
  4. Find the transaction you want to delete.
  5. Select Undo from the Action column.

 

Once done, we can exclude the transactions and then delete them after.
