Hi there, @Tithe Barn.

I'm here to share some insight about the Pro Forma invoices.

The proforma invoice is a statement by the seller that goods and services will be provided on a specific date and time, whereas an invoice is a commercial document that specifies the total amount due.

In QuickBooks Online, we usually use an estimated receipt to provide a customer with products/services, which can be turned into a sales order or invoice if the customer decides to accept your quote.

We can also use the custom form style to change the template to the estimate form into Pro Forma.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Custom Form Styles.
  3. Click New Styles.
  4. Select Estimate.
  5. On the Content tab, select the top-portion of your invoices.
  6. Under Form, select Form Names.
  7. Enter Proforma Invoice.
  8. Click Done.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can customize and invoice template: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, I'm adding this article that will serve as your guide when you want to give your customer a quote: Create and send estimates in QuickBooks Online.

In addition, you may also utilize a third party application in our Apps Center to get the features you require.

We appreciate you coming to our site. I'll be here to give you the pertinent information if you have any additional questions. Keep safe.
