Let me guide help you with this, @webpartsonline.

There are two ways on how to take card payments using your phone and it depends on how you process the transaction. To start, you'll have to get/request your customer's banking information or credit card information. Note that, you'll be charged the rate for keying in the information regardless if it’s Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.

You can do receive a payment if you invoice your customers and select a process credit card. This way, you can apply the payment to an open invoice.

  1. Select Receive payment or Receive invoice payment.
  2. Fill out the customer info and payment date.
  3. In the Outstanding Transactions section, select an open invoice to apply the payment toward.
  4. From the Payment method drop-down menu, picked Credit card.
  5. Select Enter credit card details.
  6. Enter the credit card info or select Swipe Card.
  7. Optional: To save this customer's credit card, select  Use this credit card in the future.
  8. Select the Process credit card.
  9. Click Save and close or Save and new.

However, if you didn't invoice your customer, you can process a credit card with a sales receipt.

  1. Select Sales receipt or Make a sale, then fill out the customer info.
  2. Add a product or service to sell.
  3. From the Payment method drop-down menu, select Credit card.
  4. Select Enter credit card details.
  5. Enter the credit card info or select Swipe Card.
  6. Optional: To save this customer's credit card, select Use this credit card in the future.
  7. Select Process credit card.
  8. Click Save and close or Save and new.

Also, you can ask your customer if they would like you to keep the payment information on hand so they don't have to provide every time there's a transaction created.

I'm adding this article, so you can check when QuickBooks deposits customer payments into your bank account and guide you with your future task:
