I need to correct an entry's class.  I thought I might have to do a journal entry but I see no class on a journal entry.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Before utilizing this feature, let's figure out if the Class Tracking feature is enabled, @arwells57. We can go ahead with the Gear icon.

The Class tracking feature will help us sort our financial reports into meaningful segments. With that, I'm happy to lend the step to you.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and click Account and Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced, press the Pencil icon, then choose the Categories section to correct.
  3. Verify Track classes.
  4. Check the Warn me when a transaction isn't assigned a class box.
  5. From the Assign classes, choose One for the whole transaction or One for each row in a transaction.
  6. Pres Save once Done.

After that, create a journal entry, then add a class for each row. These should appear like the photo below:

Additionally, you can use classes to track your transactions by departments, product lines, or any other meaningful segments in your business. Want to know how? See this article for the complete details: Get started with class tracking in QuickBooks Online.
