Question

Credit notes are not being sent when I click "Save and send" after creating them. I've tried changing this to "Save and close" and back again, but still no luck.

The created credit note has the two options to the left of "edit / send" Clicking "send" sorts out the issue, but I've never had to do this before.

Let’s look at this together to find a solution and get your credit notes sent as expected, Onsigns. I want to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Before we start, may I know the error message you received when saving and sending the credit note? Any information or screenshots will help us resolve the issue.

In the meantime, perform basic troubleshooting steps. Too much historical data can slow down loading times, and clearing it will resolve the problem.

First, access your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once done, save and send the credit note again. If it works, switch back to your regular browser. Then, clear its cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also use a different supported one.

Additionally, if you want to apply credit notes automatically in QuickBooks, please check this article for guidance: Create and Apply credit notes or delayed credits. It also includes further details on handling credits.
