Hi there

I've been trying to follow the advice for being able to detail a discount on my customer's invoices but I think that it will be different (or not offered) with QB Self Employed.

Can anyone let me know how I can achieve this?

Many thanks

Hello, @peaky.

I'm here to share some information about adding a discount on your customer's invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

The option to add a discount to invoices in QBSE is currently unavailable. This will surely be a great addition to the current features that we have to customise your invoices. I'll surely take note of this.

I also encourage you to leave feedback from within the product. Just follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Assistant button from the top bar.
  2. Enter Send feedback from the chat box.
  3. Click on Add a feature and enter your suggestion.

For now, you can visit the QuickBooks Blog to check for new updates and features that we have.

In the meantime, you can enter the discount amount in the invoice as a negative amount. For more information about creating and managing the invoices in your account, check out this article: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Once you've received the customer payment, refer to the following article on how to add it to your record as an income: Manually add transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know if you have further questions about the discount option on invoices for QBSE. Let me know in the Reply section below. Keep safe and enjoy the rest of the day!
