Question

Do you know why when I create an invoice it says it's been paid as soon as I save it when it hasn't been?

The system may automatically apply the credits to your sales transactions, keithseverin31-g.

This is why your invoice shows paid after saving. Let's verify this by checking if the Automatically apply credits option is enabled. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Account and Settings.
  2. Choose the Advanced tab.
  3. Click the pencil icon on the Automation section.
  4. Ensure the Automatically apply credits option is disabled.
  5. Click Save, and then Done.

Also, a zero amount marks the invoice as paid. The system will automatically detect that there's no payment needed to be received.

If none of these fixes the problem, I'd recommend creating a dummy invoice via a private window. This is a good place to determine if this is a browser-related issue. Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Once done, save the invoice. If it shows unpaid, let's clear the browser's cache. This ensures the program performs efficiently.

You can also do this by using other supported browsers. They provide the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks.

Addtionally, I've added an article that'll guide you in personalising your invoices. This way, you can add the info that matters most to your business: Customise Sales Forms.

Please keep us posted on how it goes. It's our priority to make sure this gets resolved. Keep safe always!
