Question

Does anyone have a way of exporting all projects by date out of the project section so we can review Profit Margin across the year?

Hello there, @lee66.

I'm here to ensure you're able to get the project list in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Currently, there isn't a way to export all projects by the date in the Project section. As a workaround, I'd suggest printing it by clicking the Print icon on the right side. That way, you have a reference for the transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Projects tab on the left side.
  2. Choose Customers in the drop-down.
  3. Hit the Print icon beside the small gear icon.

You can also run the Profit and Loss report to review Profit Margin across the year. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Reports tab on the left side and locate the said report.
  2. Pick Customers in the Columns Display by drop-down.
  3. Choose Income in the Compare another period box.
  4. Tap Run report

From there, you can always export or print the data. For more information, check out this article: Customise reports.

You also have an option to click the Save customization to memorize the report. It will help you save time since it automatically updates every time there are newly added transactions. You may refer to this page: Memorise reports in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added articles about handling projects and other relevant matters.
