Question

Does anyone know how to connect a Revolut joint account to QB? My client has a sole and a joint a/c; needs to connect the joint one but QB only offers the sole account.

Let me share insights about connecting accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), lenke.

In connecting your online banking, QuickBooks depends on what type of accounts your financial institution supports for connection. It's either for personal, business, or joint accounts. During the process, have you tried confirming from your bank if they support connections for joint accounts? Also, can you tell me if you have multiple accounts with the same institution?

There are instances where one of your accounts was set up as a sub-account from another. This can be one of the reasons why connecting your joint account is not an option. In QuickBooks, you can't connect both parent and its sub-accounts. Instead, we can choose one to connect as the parent account and add the sub-accounts underneath. We choose a parent account based on where all the transactions are downloaded.

Once you've confirmed from your bank if the account you prefer to connect is set underneath the sole account, we can retain the connection or unlink this and connect the joint account. Before doing so, please note that disconnecting an account stops downloading new bank entries and deletes transactions that still need to be categorised in the For Review tab.

After you decide, you can proceed to connect your joint account to the application. You can refer to the complete guidelines in this article: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks.

Furthermore, you can check out these articles on categorising your transactions and reconciling your account. Doing so will put your transactions in the correct category and avoid any discrepancies in your books:
