Hello, Leon. This issue can indeed be confusing for customers. When sending estimates, the terminology and presentation can sometimes lead to misunderstandings. Let me share a few steps you can take to address this situation.

To make things clearer, you can customize the email accompanying your estimates. This way, you can ensure that clients understand they are receiving an estimate rather than an invoice. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you with the modifications:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. Open the Sales tab.
  3. Go to the Messages section and click the pencil icon.
  4. Choose Estimate from the Sales form dropdown.
  5. Make any necessary changes in the Email message field to clarify that it's an estimate.
  6. You can also include a brief note emphasizing that the attached document is an estimate and not a final invoice.
  7. Hit Save, then Done.
