The ability to create a draft in QuickBooks Online is currently unavailable, info-ws. In this case, you have to include your customers' information while writing and saving invoices. Let me explain things further and guide you on what to do.

Please refer to the following images to see what happens when a mandatory field is missing when generating an invoice:

I recommend gathering your client's data first. When you have them, use these instructions to add the information to their profile:

  1. Navigate to Get paid & pay and click on Customers.
  2. Click on New customer.
  3. Go to the Customer display name section, and input the display name (this is a required field).
  4. Then, check each field and type in any other important info.
  5. Hit Save.

See this for more details on how to handle clients in QBO: Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you can finally issue an invoice to your customers and get paid for the products and services you sell to them.
