Hi dave.s

If you are referring to the employee's password for their payslip email, it is consist of eight characters, in the format of:

  • First 4 letters of the employee’s surname (lowercase).
  • First 4 characters of the NI number (lowercase). If no NI number is present in QBO, the year of birth is used.

Example: The password for Ben Narramore with NI no. AB 12 34 56 D would be narrab12.

For any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me. Thank you.

Hello Community Users, Just wanted to pop in and add some clarification. In the case the Employee surname is 3 characters long you would use all the 3 letters of the surname and the first 4 characters of the National insurance number as the password. Any questions on this feel free to add to this thread. Thanks
