Hi, I have a lot of subscription customers and would like to send an annual invoice but collect payments monthly via direct debit. Is this possible?

So you can set it up as a recurring transaction and in the interval section you can select that it is for a monthly or yearly or daily depending want you are after on transaction.  

If you go to the main cog wheel>recurring transactions>new> select invoice>ok>fill information in and save template

You may utilize Gocardless to offer the Direct Debit option to your clients and integrate it with this app to reconcile data easily.
