Question

Hi, I’ve just got an email, which claims to be from Quickbooks, saying I’ve been charged $345.75 by “McAfee” as an “Invoice for Payment Software Renewed” is this a scam?

Hey there, @Darren11_2.

Can you share the email address it's sent from? Our emails will always come from an email address that ends with “@intuit.com." We have a website where you can report phishing emails and other security issues. You can send the information directly to our security team.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Online Security Center page.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Look for Report a fake email (or phishing email) and click on it.

I also recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Support team. They can take a look at your account and review your billing information.

Here's how:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
  2. Select Talk to a Human.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern and press Enter.
  4. Click I still need a human.
  5. Select Contact Us to connect with our live support.
  6. Choose Get a callback.

Additionally, we have a guide on how to spot fake emails and how you can better protect and secure your account. Please refer to these articles:

Please let me know if you have any other issues or concerns. I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you.
