How can I add discounts to invoices on a line by line basis rather than an overall discount at the end of the invoice

    Hi nvaisey, the ability to add a discount per line item is not currently supported in QBO; I appreciate that it would be convenient to have this and we encourage customers to leave feedback in-product (Cog > Feedback) so that this is submitted to our developers who're able to implement changes.

    Hello stewart3,

     

    There is currently no feature for a line by line discount. The workaround would be to create a duplicate product, with a discounted rate, and mention that this is the discounted product in the name. Then, when setting up the invoice, you can select this product and it will show as 'discounted' on the customer's side.

     

    Please use the cog wheel within your account to leave feedback - your suggestion will be submitted directly to the developers who will look into implementing this in future updates, if possible.

      Strange - the facility to have a line discount is already in the Indian version of QBO - why is it not possible in the UK version?

      Until, if, it shows up in the UK version there is a work around, though it is not line by line

       

      create a service item that links to the sales income discount account

      enter the rate as a negative decimal representing the % of discount

       

      on the invoice, sub total the items to be discounted and enter that total in the qty block of the discount item

        Is there any update on this feature? It has been 3 years since a member requested. Line item discount is a very basic feature of invoicing and should be standard!
