Hi there, @paul50.

Good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community. I'm here to help guide you about setting up invoice without the VAT in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for UK.

You'll need to change the default tax rate selection on your QuickBooks account and settings. This way, no VAT is required when creating a transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Gear icon.
  2. Go to Account and Settings.
  3. Click on the Advanced tab.
  4. Select Accounting section.
  5. On the Default tax rate selection drop down, select No VAT

Once done, you'll no longer be asked to enter the VAT code when creating a transaction.

That should do it! Feel free to leave a comment below if you have any other questions about the VAT code. I'm always here to help you out. Have a good one.
