How come my expenses is only £400 for the year

The expenses showing on your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account depends on how you categorize your transactions. 

To isolate why your expenses are only £400 for the year, let's check how your transactions are categorized. Here's how:

1. In the left menu, click Transactions. 
2. Click the Type: All drop-down menu. 
3. Under the  Business section, select Spending. 

You can also run the Business and personal expenses report to see a list of all your expenses broken down by category. Follow the below steps to run the report:

1. In the left menu, click Reports.
2. Locate the Business and personal expenses report.
3. Set the year.
4. Click the View link. 

From there, you'll see all your expense transactions.
